Permanent Exhibitions

The castle, built and expanded continuously from the mid-18th century, was owned by the Festetics family for 200 years. Construction was begun by Kristóf Festetics in 1745.

After several renovations, it acquired its current form between 1883 and 1887 during the era of Tasziló (II) Festetics. Its park is a protected natural area.

The castle park houses the Palm House and the former coach house, which now hosts the carriage exhibition. Opposite the park’s rear exit is a new building that accommodates the hunting exhibition and the historical model railway exhibition. Near the castle, on Kastély Street, stands the Amazon House Visitor Center.
